#07 speakers from Blast Theory, Bandersnatch, the BBC and more

This spicy lineup will be gracing the stage on Weds 30th Jan for Artful Spark #07 – Producers, Unite!

This event celebrates the cross-artform producers defying categorisation and leading the charge in a rapidly changing landscape.

Matt Adams – Blast Theory

Blast Theory have been blowing up artform boundaries for decades, and the way they think about developing projects is rule-breaking and inspirational, drawing from across the creative industries. Matt will bring both solid pointers and a bit of Blast Theory’s punk philosophy.

Andrea Moccia – Secret Cinema

A Secret Cinema stalwart, Andrea has seen the team grow from 12 in 2017 to over 30. Over six years he’s played a central role in building a unique process and language for delivering the company’s mind-bending blend of film, theatre and event.

JiaXuan Hon – Dance/tech

JiaXuan is an independent dance producer working at the intersection of art and tech. She has run hacks and incubators, developed emerging artists, worked for renowned dance institutions and will have plenty to share from the frontline of producing.

[chair] Tim Wright – NFTS Immersive Storytelling

Tim is a BAFTA-winning digital writer, cross-platform producer, acting Head of Immersive at the NFTS and leads the Creative Producing for Digital Platforms course. Who better to share insights on how the role of producer is evolving?

Dan Tucker – BBC

A digital director and VR producer with a healthy BBC stint under his belt and over 20 years experience across TV, VR, games, web and mobile. Having also programmed some of the most cutting edge work for the acclaimed Sheffield Doc/Fest, Dan knows his immersive onions.

Russell McLean – Morris Productions/Black Mirror

It started with music videos for REM, Muse, Paul McCartney and more. Throw in over 200 commercials, collaborations with ground-breaking directors and a BAFTA for VFX on Black Mirror. The big question is how on earth did he go about producing the behemoth that is “Bandersnatch”, Netflix’s first adult interactive film?

[chair] Muki Kulhan – TV/Digital

Now making mischief at Exec level across TV, music, digital and immersive – whether on the red button or an AR app for rap fans – Muki started her inimitable rise by shaking up MTV’s digital offer in the ‘00s. Podcast host, MeetUp chair, panel advisor, diversity advocate and all-round whirlwind.
